"My experience dictates that a complete investigation by the Defense always improves the Defense's case. Often you can find over charging or ignorance of Defendant-beneficial evidence. I always ask for Forensic expertise on major criminal matters. Plan B has aided in successful conclusions on many of my client's cases."

"As a criminal defense attorney who represents a variety of defendants and their charges, it's essential to have independent forensic analysts and clinical physicians to verify, or invalidate, the State’s expert witnesses or evidence. Often times, this independent analysis can resolve a case that would otherwise go to trial. At trial, it can be invaluable to refute ambiguous evidence or prejudicial conclusions by biased state’s experts. We have used Plan B Forensics on a number of cases and they have been an essential element to resolution every time. I highly recommend them for anyone needing an independent and trustworthy analysis."

Dr. Marshall has had a 360-degree view of death investigations. She finished medical school in Philadelphia in 2000 and went on to complete a 5-year General Surgery Residency, the 4th woman in 50 years to complete the rigorous program. Her specialty training included trauma and emergency surgery, surgical oncology, routine surgical procedures and surgical critical care.
Dr. Marshall along with her General Surgery-trained husband, Dr. John Marshall, deployed four years overseas as Surgical Attendings to the US Army 121st Combat Support Hospital, Seoul, where they became half the team of four Army surgeons for the entire peninsula of S. Korea. Dr. John Marshall commanded the 135th Forward Surgical Team in Seoul, while Dr. Suzan Marshall was on the 127th.
The Marshall family moved to the US and settled in the Inland NW in 2009. Suzan had a busy surgery practice, then transitioned into consulting when John became staff at the VA Hospital in Spokane.
Suzan has spent the last several years taking on additional training to become a nationally certified medicolegal death investigator. Plan B Forensics, LLC was born from the critical need for clinicians in criminal cases.

For attorneys and other professionals, Plan B Forensics will provide a comprehensive picture of what happened to the victim. We will review your case and your goals to see if we can be of assistance. If we continue working the case, we can provide a detailed report that is crystal clear for a lay person, including images and scientific data to support conclusions.
We put the whole story together for you to gain an accurate picture of how things went wrong and a life ended. We don’t guess, make assumptions or chase theories. We’re not on anyone’s side but the truth. We start with the most important evidence and the best witness, the body. If a scenario does not match the injuries the victim sustained, then it’s wrong, so we start at the source and work our way out in an enlarging spiral. Dr. Marshall’s extensive background and training in trauma surgery make it likely that she's seen these injuries before a fatality occurred and understands the mechanism required both before and after death -- a more comprehensive picture than a pathologist can give you. She was the real deal, “lifey-deathy” surgeon, for military and civilians, and will review medical records with the precision required in the operating room. Her certification as a medicolegal death investigator enables her to evaluate not just postmortem injuries but the process by which the death investigation was done.
For families, We are a collective voice for the victim and an advocate for the survivors. In memoriam. For closure, for peace. For all of us.
